FAQ

ABOUT US

What are you ?

Hello! We are Small Format, a space by and for queer folks in Providence at 335 Wickenden St. We offer cocktails, coffee, sandwiches, and pastries, as well as a creative gallery experience.

What are your hours?

We are open for the long weekend:
Fridays and Saturdays from 10 to 10, Sunday 9 to 6, and Monday 11 to 7.

What is a “third space”?

“Third space” is a term that's often used in sociology, interpreted here within our space as a place where, outside of our homes and workplaces, we have the opportunity to explore the people we want to be, learn together, experiment, and ultimately become the people we are willing to be. We aim to be a place that allows folks to thrive through freedom of expression, joy, fun, and connection/engagement with community.

THE FOOD

What are your options?

We care a lot about accessibility!
Many of our sandwiches are vegetarian, and all can be made gluten-free.

Where do you source your ingredients?

We use organic ingredients that we purchase through our wholesaler.
The bouquets and edible flowers that we have are sourced from Hocus Pocus farm in Seekonk, MA.

Do you deliver?

While we do not offer delivery options at this time, we plan to get on that soon so keep an eye out for us on Grubhub!

THE ART

What’s the current show?

We are currently featuring a solo exhibition from artist Soyoon Hia Cha, or SOYOMYOYO. You can read more about her exhibition as well as our past ones at our Art & Culture page.

Do I have to pay to see the art?

Not at all! Come on by and visit us to take a look whenever you’d like.

How do you choose the artists that you feature?

We focus on working with artists with whom we share values of shared community building, queer joy and resistance, and radical liberation - especially highlighting QTBIPOC artists.
